~About Me~
Emily Heffernan
B.S Early Childhood Education and minor in Theology
Franciscan University of Steubenville
Hello, My name is Emily Heffernan. I was born and raised in Coppell Texas; a suburb of Dallas. I had a wonderful upbringing living in Coppell, where I attended public school until my graduation from Coppell High School in 2019. From there I made the big move to Steubenville, Ohio where I received my degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Working with children has always been a passion of mine. As the oldest child in my family, I spent several years helping my siblings with the guidance of my parents. From a young age, a seed was planted inside me that had the desire to help nurture and form children. However, my calling to teach occurred in my senior year of high school, when I had the privilege of assisting a Religious Education class for fourth graders. This lead to further involvement throughout my years in college as a Catholic summer camp counselor, mission leader, tutor, teaching fellow, and an intern for a nonprofit youth organization.

I believe our life's mission is to understand our vocation and to strive towards it with immense passion. My passion is to be the best teacher for my future students. As a teacher, I’m excited to go above and beyond to ensure my students are successful, and well equipped in their skills learned in my classroom to further their academics and their well-being. I strive to develop rapport with each student and provide differentiated instruction to suit the needs of my classroom. I want to emphasize the importance of teaching to the whole person through ethics which allow students to understand how to treat themselves and others with respect. Further, I aspire for the inclusion of technology in the classroom as a useful skill. Additionally, I want to emphasize the importance of making learning exciting and enjoyable. I look forward to the opportunity to form, educate, and shape students into strong individuals who will be our future.
